Email encryption guide

To send an encrypted email to a user outside of your organization please perform the following steps:

  1. Open Outlook and create your email including any attachments needed in the email
  2. In the subject line, add the word “Encrypt”
     

     
  3. You can also include a normal subject, but the word “Encrypt” still must be present.
     

     
  4. Now just hit send on your email. Barracuda will encrypt the email sent.
     

****Keep in mind, that no internal emails between archindy.org accounts are ever encrypted, only emails sent to external recipients.****

Clicking “use a one-time passcode” goes to the page below:


After inputting the passcode the message comes up:


The recipient can reply to the message by clicking reply in upper right-hand corner:


The recipient from the Archdiocese receives the message:


The recipient opens “message.html”


This opens up a web browser page to read the encrypted message by signing in using their Office365 credentials:


Once signed in the message is accessed by the Archdiocese employee
