The Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem, of Rhodes, and of Malta–commonly called the Order of Malta–is a religious and knightly order dating from the 11th century. St. Joseph Institute offers a variety of Listening and Spoken Language programs for children who are deaf or hard of hearing and their families including: early intervention, preschool/primary school, mainstream support, internet-based teletherapy services, and comprehensive educational training opportunities for
families and professionals. Dramatic advances in technology, including sophisticated hearing aids and cochlear implants, give children with significant hearing loss access to sound. With appropriate speech therapy, auditory rehabilitation and
