The Archdiocese of Indianapolis is especially blessed to have three outstanding educational institutions within our geographic boundaries that offer a variety of degree programs:

Marian University

Owned and operated by the Sisters of St. Francis of Oldenburg, Indiana, Marian University has over 2,000 students and offers degrees in business, nursing, education, and other fields.  The San Damiano Scholars Program is open to students in all majors who are committed to a life in ministry or volunteer church leadership.

Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College

Owned and operated by the Sisters of Providence, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College has over 1,500 students and provides both campus-based and external degree programs, including master’s degrees in pastoral theology, earth literacy, art therapy, music therapy, leadership development, and education.

Saint Meinrad School of Theology

Owned and operated by the Benedictine monks of Saint Meinrad Archabbey, the Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology educates over 100 lay ministry students and provides master’s degree programs in Catholic philosophical studies, Catholic thought and life, and theological studies.

Catholic Distance University

Catholic Distance University educates over 200 students at the associate, baccalaureate, and master degree levels fully online in Catholic theology, the liberal arts, and faith development for the growth of faith, ecclesial service, and leadership for the New Evangelization. Known for faithful transmission of the teachings of the Church, CDU is the only online university recommended by The Cardinal Newman Society, an organization dedicated to promoting faithful Catholic education. CDU’s Graduate School of Theology is accredited by The Association of Theological Schools.
