Receptionist / Administrative Assistant

St. Christopher Catholic Church is seeking a full time church receptionist. This is an onsite role, Monday-Friday 8:30-4:00. 

The church receptionist’s primary function is to greet callers and visitors to the parish and to direct them to the appropriate resource.  Additionally, this person will assist with materials for weekend liturgies, operate office equipment, maintain the church calendar and records, and assist staff with administrative duties. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The church receptionist will greet and assist visitors; answer routine questions; prepare and set up materials for weekend liturgical services; distribute incoming mail and send outgoing mail (bulk and regular); maintain the parish database, maintain the campus calendar for room reservations and events; schedule mass intentions and infant baptisms; and assist with other duties as necessary to ensure efficient functioning of the Parish.

  2. Good organizational and planning skills
  3. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and use discretion

  5. Ability to work with minimal supervision
  6. Willingness to foster the Church’s mission

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Must be able to understand and to comply with the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Code of Conduct
  2. Must be able to successfully complete the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Child Safety Training
  3. Background screening required
  4. Valid driver’s license required
  5. Must be comfortable working on the computer and using various software packages, such as the church database, the Microsoft Office Suite and Google products.
  6. Must be comfortable learning to use office equipment, such as copier, folding machine, postage machine, video screens etc.
