About the Position

Christ the King Catholic School, located on the northside of Indianapolis, is seeking a dependable and skilled Daytime Maintenance employee to join our team beginning June 2026. This position plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, clean, and functional learning environment for our students, staff, families, and visitors.

The ideal candidate will perform routine maintenance, minor repairs, and preventative care for school buildings, grounds, and equipment while upholding high safety and operational standards.

Primary Responsibilities

Essential Functions

1. Perform general maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
2. Conduct routine inspections of classrooms, buildings, restrooms, and common areas.
3. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair needs.
4. Set up and break down rooms for school events, meetings, and activities.
5. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and school policies.
6. Maintain tools, equipment, and accurate maintenance logs.
7. Coordinate with administrators, teachers, and outside vendors as needed.
8. Assist with cleaning and custodial duties when required.

Qualifications

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience in maintenance, custodial work, or facility operations preferred.
• Basic knowledge of building systems and repair techniques.
• Ability to safely operate maintenance tools and equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Education, Training & Experience

• Previous experience in a school or institutional setting is beneficial.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, or plumbing systems preferred.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and general workplace safety guidelines.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.
