Campus  Minister

            The Archdiocese of Indianapolis is seeking a full-time Campus  Minister for the Butler Catholic Community on the campus of Butler University  in Indianapolis.
            The Campus Minister is charged  with the oversight of the Butler Catholic Campus Ministry, working alongside  the chaplain to provide for the spiritual needs of students and equip them for  lifelong mission after college. This position will oversee all BCC events and programming,  especially Sunday masses and dinners, in addition to outreach efforts on  campus. Additional responsibilities include recruiting, forming, and convening  the Peer Ministry team. Outside of direct mission work, this position is also  responsible for stewarding and growing the donor community of BCC, as well as  fulfilling administrative duties as necessary.            
            Responsibilities:
            
              - Live       a life of prayer, especially through scheduled daily prayer, daily mass,       and frequenting confession
 
              - Collaborate       with the part-time chaplain to meet the Sacramental needs of students,       working to creatively provide for their spiritual lives 
 
              - Coordinate       weekly Sunday masses and Sunday suppers on campus 
 
              - Oversee       the planning, execution, and delivery of all annual programming 
 
              - Recruit,       form, and convene the Peer Ministry team
 
              - Initiate       and execute outreach efforts on campus to engage new students in the       ministry
 
              - Grow       and steward donor relationships
 
              - Foster       relationships with BCC ministry alumni and Butler faculty and staff 
 
              - Fulfill       all administrative roles of the position as necessary
 
              - Other       duties as necessary to ensure efficient functioning of Butler Catholic       Community 
 
            
            Skills,  knowledge, and/or abilities:
            
              - Is a self-starter, shows strong initiative and takes  ownership of responsibilities
 
              - Excellent organization and planning skills, ability to  meet deadlines
 
              - Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities  simultaneously
 
              - Ability to confidently manage the budget for BCC
 
              - Shares credit, emphasizes the team over self, and  defines success collectively rather than individually 
 
              - Is interpersonally appropriate and aware, has good  judgement and intuition and understands the impact of their words and actions 
 
              - Can work with a diverse group of people
 
              - Ability to be sensitive and empathetic while  ministering to persons experiencing crises and maintain confidentiality when  appropriate
 
              - Comfortable with  public speaking
 
              - Excellent  understanding of small group dynamics and facilitating successful small groups
 
              - Has a creative and relevant understanding of  communicating the Gospel to the young Church
 
              - Willingness to foster the mission of the church 
 
            
            Education,  training, and/or experience:
            
              - Required 2-3 years professional experience in  full-time college campus ministry
 
              - Has formation from a pastoral or evangelical  organization in the Church and/or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
 
              - Strong event coordination experience
 
              - Familiarity with development, confident in ability to  steward donors and make new asks
 
              - Is a practicing and faithful Catholic in good  standing, with a theological and ministerial perspective consistent with  current Church documents 
 
              - Must be able to  understand and to comply with the policies of the Butler Office of Student  Activities
 
              - Must be able to understand and to comply with the  Archdiocese of Indianapolis Code of Conduct
 
              - Must be able to successfully complete the Archdiocese  of Indianapolis Child Safety Training
 
              - Background screening required
 
              - Valid driver’s license required
