University Minister of Evangelization

            As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who  represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University seeks a  University Minister, Evangelization to promote our Catholic Franciscan mission  and identity by inviting students to a relationship with Jesus Christ and a  dynamic faith community. The minister does this through interculturally  competent forms of peer ministry, small faith communities, social media, and  digital communications.
            The minister will be a deeply rooted in the Roman Catholic  tradition, and, from that tradition, engage the diverse Marian University  community through radical hospitality, a welcoming attitude, and intentional  outreach. The minister will utilize graphic design and media production skills  to enhance outreach to our traditional and online student populations. The  ideal candidate will be joy-filled, creative, highly organized, and seek out  new opportunities and collaboration. Students should see the university  minister as a Christian witness, leader, and mentor.
            Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
            
              - Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan  mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan  Sponsorship Values and honoring the legacy of the founding congregation through  transformative education, unity in diversity, leadership through service,  integrating faith and life, and institutional policies.
 
              - Peer Ministry: create, organize, and  implement a peer ministry program based upon the vision of Evangelii Gaudium  (The Joy of the Gospel). The minister will select, prepare, and support student  leaders as they invite, accompany, and walk with their peers on the journey to  intentional missionary discipleship. (30% of responsibilities)
 
              - Small Group Ministry: create, organize, and  implement a comprehensive small faith community program to form intentional  Christian communities that support faith exploration, development, and  leadership formation. Coordinate the Franciscan Physicians Formation Program. A  major emphasis to this program will be work with and support the faith journeys  of students from underrepresented backgrounds through interculturally competent  forms of ministry. (30%)
 
              - Digital Ministry: increase engagement and  ministry involvement through social media and digital communications. Oversee  the livestream of liturgies and other events. (20%)
 
              - Leadership Responsibilities: form and  organize student leaders and teams to accomplish all the above. Work closely  with Students Success and Engagement team, especially the Residence Life and  Unity Center staff. (10%)
 
              - Other Responsibilities: Manage budget for  above programs and responsibilities. Actively participates in Mission and  Ministry and Campus Ministry teams and supports programs. Complete other duties  as assigned. (10%)
 
            
            Required Qualifications:
            
              - Baptized, practicing Catholic in good  standing with the Church
 
              - Hold a bachelor’s degree in theology,  Liturgy, or ministry, or possess significant experience in ministry
 
              - Experience in evangelization and small group  ministry
 
              - Experience supporting students from a variety  a cultural, socio-economic, and faith backgrounds
 
              - Fluent in social media and digital  communication platforms
 
              - Experience working with university and/or  high school students and providing leadership formation opportunities to them.
 
              - Familiar with the documents of Vatican II and  the rich heritage of the Catholic intellectual tradition
 
              - Strong organizational skills
 
              - Strong, internally motivated work ethic
 
              - Excellent communication skills
 
              - Regular and frequent work during evenings and  weekends
 
              - Proficiency in utilizing audio/visual  equipment
 
              - Proficiency in the Microsoft office suite
 
              - Proficiency in graphic design
