Maintenance Supervisor

St Joan of Arc Church and School are seeking a Full Time, hourly, Maintenance Supervisor. This is an onsite, in-person role.
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for managing and maintaining all parish and school buildings and grounds in excellent condition. Performs maintenance functions as a primary role of this position. Does not supervise full-time maintenance staff, but may supervise custodians, part- time or seasonal help, volunteers, and outside contractors.
Responsibilities:
- Complete repairs and maintenance tasks on buildings, grounds, equipment, electrical systems, plumbing, doors, furniture, indoor and outdoor lighting, and fixtures when reasonable.
- Complete scheduled and preventative maintenance tasks, including changing filters and light bulbs, cleaning of plumbing traps, and checking physical operation of equipment, building, doors, and windows. Complete some basic painting.
- Inspect building and grounds for items needing repair, replacement, and upkeep. Maintain an active and ongoing list of building and ground maintenance projects.
- Inspect building and grounds to ensure compliance with health, fire, and safety regulations. Ensure other inspections are completed for backflows, fire system, elevator, fire extinguishers, and electrical.
- Provide general cleaning of buildings and grounds.
- Demonstrate responsible stewardship of all institutional resources, such as supplies, materials, energy, equipment, and people.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must have ability to develop and administer programs to meet assessed needs.
- Basic mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing skills to complete routine tasks.
- Ability to organize and manage workload to meet deadlines.
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and to have complete mobility in the buildings and grounds.
- Willingness to foster and support the Church's mission.
- Self-motivated. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Education, Training, and Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems to complete routine tasks.
- Experience using hand, electrical tools, and outdoor power equipment.
- Must be able to understand and to comply with the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Code of Conduct.
- Must be able to successfully complete the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Safe Parish Training.
- Background screening required.
- Valid driver's license required.
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to stand, sit, walk, talk, feel, hear, and handle.
