Coordinator of Health Professions Pathway Programs

As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University seeks a part-time Coordinator of Health Professions Pathway Programs to promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by creating programming that supports recruiting and educating talented and diverse students for the health professions academic programs.

The Coordinator of Health Professions Pathway Programs is a self-starter with exceptional organization, event planning, and relational skills. The Coordinator needs the ability to represent Marian University in a positive and professional way to diverse populations. Additionally, the coordinator will collaborate with professionals in various divisions across campus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values and honoring the legacy of the founding congregation through transformative education, unity in diversity, leadership through service, integrating faith and life, and institutional policies.
  • Provide high quality customer service to students, families, faculty, and staff who interact with the Pathways office.
  • Facilitate office management services including phone calls, scheduling appointments, reserving rooms, managing emails, and preparing office documents, reports, and correspondence.
  • Manage survey data to organize medical and nursing student volunteers.
  • Serve as primary contact in coordinating tour guides and volunteers for MU Health Professions Pathway Programs.
  • Maintain communication logs and files documenting our relationships with K-12 school system administrators, guidance counselors, teachers, parents, and students attending our pathway programs.
  • Facilitate the ordering and billing processes related to supplies and inventory.
  • Assist with monitoring the office budget and prepare expense accounts.
  • Coordinate training events and manage files for CPR/BLS training.
  • Summer Camp Administrative functions include the following:
    • Manage camper application and registration process.
    • Create and maintain files for campers and volunteers.
    • Coordinate IT/catering/campus operations requests for campus events.
    • Manage the posting and hiring of all campus staff positions.
    • Coordinate background checks and CPR/BLS training for counselors, faculty, and staff.
    • Facilitate all printing and documents production needs for camp.

Outreach Coordination:

  • Help coordinate and attend internal and external outreach events as assigned by the Director of Health Professions Pathway Programs, which may include educational and career related events at local high schools or hosted on campus at MU.
  • Promotes the university’s mission and identity by helping foster an environment dedicated to diversity, inclusion, and belongingness.
  • Other duties as assigned.

University Expectations:

  • Some evening and weekend commitments are required.

The candidate must have the following qualifications:

  • An Associate or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
  • Previous experience with event planning desired.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of Marian University.
  • Excellent verbal, written, collaborative, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple projects concurrently, and work under minimal supervision.
  • Communicate effectively with internal & external groups.
