Advent at Home

Idea: Parishes would provide households (with or without children) an Advent at Home box that would include materials that center around Advent. Ideas for the box; devotionals, crafts, recipe ideas, coloring pages and other special activities to help celebrate Advent and Christmas at home.

Family-Based Catechesis

Idea: Bilingual family catechesis is offered at the parish adhering to social distancing guidelines. Families begin together with prayer and reflection. Children then go to a classroom per their age group for age-appropriate instruction. The parents/guardians remain together for adult catechesis instruction. At the conclusion, parents and children come back together to discuss questions that pertain to what they learned.  End with prayer.

Platform:  In person or hybrid approach.

Mini Parish Mission

A Message of Hope from Abp. Thompson

Archbishop Charles C. Thompson“During these troubled times, we should not lose hope. The kingdom of God is coming. In fact, it is already here in seminal form waiting to be sown, cultivated and harvested by us.

"We dare not give in to darkness and despair, but we also can’t afford to take things for granted.

"As missionary disciples of Jesus, we are called to be women and men of hope who work tirelessly for peace through justice and mercy, the hallmarks of God’s reign among us.”

(Archbishop Thompson, Christ the Cornerstone column, July 17, 2020)
