WorkshopDREs, principals and youth ministers preparing for Mass changes
The words we speak at Mass will change soon, and directors of religious education (DREs), principals and youth ministers from across central and southern Indiana are preparing for those changes. Part of the preparation for many of them included attending Aug. 2 workshops at the French Lick Resort on planning for Masses with children in light of the new translation of the Mass set to be implemented on the weekend of Nov. 26-27, the first Sunday of Advent. Seminarians prayingArchdiocesan seminarians make pilgrimage to Richmond community and deepen fraternity
New seminarian Michael Conner grew up in Tell City in the southwestern corner of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. But in the short time that he has been a seminarian he has already traveled to Richmond, the town in the archdiocese that is farthest from his hometown. He and 23 other seminarians made a pilgrimage on Aug. 17 to Holy Family, St. Andrew and St. Mary parishes—the three faith communities that make up the Richmond Catholic Community. (Page 1)

World Youth Day 2011 in Madrid logoLocal young adults back from pilgrimage to Spain for WYD...and blogging about it (and posting photos)
Forty-one young adults from the Archdiocese of Indianapolis and the neighboring Diocese of Lafayette joined three priest chaplains on a pilgrimage to Madrid for World Youth Day from Aug. 13-22. During the pilgrimage, the young adults participated in official World Youth Day events, including catechetical sessions, concerts, talks and a special Mass for U.S. pilgrims. The weeklong event culminated on Aug. 21 with a Mass celebrated by Pope Benedict XVI. Updates and photographs from the trip are available at a special blog.
