House Education panel approves school choice bill
School choice is one step closer to becoming a reality in Indiana. Following hours of testimony, the Indiana House Education Committee approved the school choice bill on Feb. 15. Under the proposal, qualifying families would be eligible for a scholarship to use at the private school of their choice. The private school of choice may, in many cases, be a Catholic school. The Church supports the bill. (Page 3A)

Father Christopher J. CoyneEpiscopal ordination Mass of Christopher Coyne to be streamed online
A priest for the Archdiocese of Boston, Bishop-designate Coyne will be ordained an auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis on March 2 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Indianapolis. The Mass will begin at 2 p.m. The doors to the historic St. John the Evangelist Church, 126 W. Georgia St., will open to the public at 12:30 p.m. The ordination Mass will also be streamed live on the Internet on the homepage of The Criterion.
