Vetting Protocols

Explanation and Forms

During conversations at HMDC () meetings the need to establish protocols to vet preachers and presenters who are invited to come to our Archdiocese for different events such as retreats, conferences, concerts, etc. emerged.

Together we created these vetting protocols, which were approved by our chancellor Mrs. Mickey Lentz. The protocols are in effect from March 1st, 2014.

The goal of this process is twofold: (1) to ensure fidelity to Church teaching and (2) to ensure that required safe environment procedures are followed as stated in the Archdiocese Code of Conduct Policy and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People, for all those engaged in ministry, Articles 12 and 13.


  1. Print and fill out forms (Parish’s Pastor should approve it before submitting)
  2. Submit forms to the Multicultural Ministry Office three months previous to the event
  3. It will take 2-4 weeks to complete the process
  4.  You will receive a response letter
