Catholic Charities Indianapolis is seeking a full-time Manager of Operations for Holy Family Shelter, an emergency residential program serving homeless families and their children. This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day physical operations of the shelter to ensure a safe, healthy, and well-maintained environment for residents, staff, volunteers, and guests. The Manager of Operations maintains working knowledge of all building systems, equipment, vehicles, and grounds; coordinates contractors and vendors; conducts regular facility inspections; implements preventative maintenance plans; and helps manage renovations and building improvement projects. The role also supports emergency preparedness, security procedures, and compliance with safety, health, and accreditation standards.

The ideal candidate will have strong facility and project management skills, the ability to troubleshoot building and equipment issues, and experience coordinating contractors and multiple projects. Candidates should be detail-oriented, self-motivated, comfortable working in an active human-services environment, and able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform hands-on maintenance tasks when needed. A bachelor’s degree in Facility Management or equivalent experience is preferred. The successful candidate must support the mission of Catholic Charities, comply with the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Code of Conduct and Child Safety policies, and be willing to work occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts for emergencies.
