Director of Intercultural Ministries

Position Summary:

The Archdiocese of Indianapolis is seeking a passionate and visionary Director of Intercultural Ministry to lead efforts that serve and unify the diverse cultural communities within the archdiocese. This role provides strategic pastoral leadership, promotes intercultural competency, and supports parish and community engagement across Hispanic, Black Catholic, Asian/Pacific Islander, and French-speaking groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee intercultural ministry programs and staff
  • Promote unity and a welcoming spirit across cultural communities
  • Develop and implement pastoral strategies aligned with USCCB guidance
  • Facilitate ministry formation and training accessible to a variety of cultures
  • Engage parishes, schools, and agencies to foster collaboration and intercultural participation
  • Organize cultural events and advisory group meetings
  • Represent the Archdiocese at local and national events
  • Manage budgets and collaborate in fundraising for ministry initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Practicing Catholic with strong pastoral vision and commitment to Church mission
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in intercultural dynamics and team leadership
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Substantial knowledge of the Catholic faith.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional and spiritual development.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish or other language) preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background screening
